Text Separator — List Format Converter

One tool wants your keywords comma-separated, another wants one per line, and your spreadsheet gives you something else entirely. This free text separator converts any list between formats in a click: split on new lines, commas, spaces, semicolons, tabs or your own custom separator, then join the items back with whichever separator the next tool demands. Along the way it can trim stray spaces, drop empty entries, remove duplicates and sort A–Z — the five clean-up steps every pasted list needs. It runs entirely in your browser, so customer lists, email addresses and keyword sets never leave your device.

Copied!

How to use this tool

  1. Paste your list in whatever format it is in.
  2. Choose what separates the items now.
  3. Choose the separator you need instead.
  4. Optionally trim, remove empties, dedupe and sort, then convert.

Worked example

A column of 300 keywords copied from a spreadsheet becomes one comma-separated line, duplicates removed and sorted A–Z, ready for an ads import.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most common use for a text separator tool?

Moving keyword and tag lists between SEO and advertising tools. One tool exports keywords one per line; another's import box wants them comma-separated. The same applies to meta keywords fields, spreadsheet columns pasted into forms, hashtags, SKUs and email lists. Any time content is a list but the separator is wrong, this is the two-second fix instead of manual editing.

How do duplicates and sorting work?

"Remove duplicates" keeps the first occurrence of each item and drops later repeats (after trimming, so " seo " and "seo" count as the same item). "Sort A–Z" orders items alphabetically, numbers before letters. Used together they turn a messy merged list from several sources into one clean, unique, ordered list — a common prep step before uploading keywords or tags anywhere.

Can I split on something unusual, like " | " or a word?

Yes — choose "Custom…" for either separator and type any text: a pipe, a dash sequence, even a word like "and". Splitting is literal text matching (not a regular expression), so what you type is exactly what it looks for. Joining supports the same custom text, and you can also type escape-style entries like a comma followed by a space by using the preset, or your own combination in the custom box.

Is my list uploaded or saved?

No. Splitting, cleaning and joining happen in JavaScript in your browser; the list never leaves your device and is gone when you close the tab. Paste mailing lists, customer names or unreleased keyword research with confidence.
