PayPal Link Generator — PayPal.Me Payment Link Maker
Build a PayPal.Me payment link with a prefilled amount and currency — ready for invoices, bios and DMs — from just your PayPal.Me username.
Open toolA plain email link makes the visitor do all the work — open their mail app, guess the address, write a subject. A mailto link with a prefilled subject and body does the work for them: one tap and a ready-to-send email opens, addressed to you, with "Quote request" already in the subject line and the questions you need answered already in the body. This free mailto link generator builds that link properly — with CC, BCC and correctly encoded line breaks and special characters (the part people get wrong by hand) — and also gives you the ready-to-paste HTML for your website's email buttons. It all runs in your browser.
A 'Email us for a quote' button opens a ready-addressed email with subject 'Quote request' and a body asking for name, address and the job details.
A mailto link can carry parameters after a question mark: mailto:you@site.com?subject=Hello&body=Hi%20there. The subject and body must be URL-encoded — spaces become %20, line breaks %0D%0A, and characters like & and ? get escaped — or the link breaks in some mail apps. This generator encodes everything correctly for you, including multi-line bodies, which is exactly the part that is tedious and error-prone to do by hand.
Because an empty compose window is where enquiries go to die. A prefilled body that asks "Name / Address / What do you need?" turns a vague "hi" into a usable lead, and subject lines like "Quote request" let you filter and prioritise automatically. Businesses put these links behind "Email us for a quote" buttons, on contact pages, and in PDF documents — anywhere a form is overkill but a bare address loses the sale.
Mailto is the oldest link type on the web and works everywhere a default mail app is set: phones open the mail app with the fields prefilled, desktops open Outlook, Apple Mail or the webmail the user configured. The honest caveat: a visitor with no mail app configured (some desktop users live entirely in webmail tabs) may see nothing happen — which is why good contact pages show the plain address as text too, next to the button.
Any published email address can be scraped by bots, and a mailto link contains the address in plain text in the page code. In practice, a contact address on a business site receives manageable spam with a decent spam filter, and the conversion benefit of a one-tap prefilled email far outweighs it. If spam becomes a problem, use a dedicated alias address for the website (easy to filter or change) rather than removing the link.
